Towards Sustainable ICT

13.00-15.20, 10.12.2019, ICT City (Beta)

The energy consumption of the constantly expanding ICT sector is anticipated to markedly increase in the future. What kind of actions should be carried out for software and hardware to promote energy savings and sustainability in general? Does Finland have specific features, or even a competitive advantage in relation to ICT sustainability? How are the sustainability issues taken into account in ICT engineering education?

Towards Sustainable ICT seminar focused on these topic. The seminar was organized by Digital Futures, the Department of Future Technologies and the Sustainability steering group on 10 December 2019 at 13:00-15:20 pm in the ICT City, Beta lecture hall (Joukahaisenkatu 3–5, Turku).
